Genre: A New Adult/Adult Contemporary Romance novel
RELEASE DATE: August 21st 2014
Blurb
They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.
Daughter of legendary fighter “The Saint,” Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she’s no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That’s why she’s always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she’s captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she’d come to think were true about men who trained to fight.
But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn’t something she’d planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.
Review:
As usual, Vi Keeland has suceeded in producing a captivating couple with a whole lot of problems and a whole lot of spark. Jax is your typical, pretty boy businessman during the day. Working the investment angle, talking formally, and being the all-around gentleman a senators son is expected to be. But his passion for the fight is intoxicating and Keeland had developed a character the melds gentleman and fighter into the perfect man.

You certainly won't want to put this book down once you begin, because the chemistry between Jax and Lily is on fire. As the daughter of an MMA fighter, Lily grew up in the gym she's running. The gym Jax is not fully invested in emotionally and for his buyer. Once these two get alone, let the fight begin. A fight full of passion, love and heartache.

Warning, this book has physical violence in and out of ring, in addition to a piece of crap senator and an ex. This is a book about MMA and love so expect violence, passion and a lot of language. YOu will fully enjoy watching this couple battle their way through the past and present, and ultimately, ending up in the ring.

It didn't matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she's been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it's boring...and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle's office and everything changes...for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

***Author's note*** THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Meet Liv Michaels
It may have been seven years, but I'd know him anywhere. Sure, he's grown, filled out in all the right places, but his captivating blue eyes and cocky grin are exactly the way I remember. Even though I'd much rather forget.

Liv Michaels is almost there. She's smart, determined and weeks away from landing the job she's dreamed about for years. Time healed old wounds, even her broken heart from the devastation of being crushed by her first love.

Meet Vince Stone
Women love a fighter, especially a good one. Lucky for me, I'm damn good. But there's one woman that isn't interested. Not again, anyway.

Vince 'The Invincible' Stone is every woman's fantasy...strong, sexy, confident and completely in control. Growing up surrounded by chaos, he's learned never to get too attached. Love will drag you down. He adores women, treats them well, puts their own needs before his own...for the night anyway. With the biggest fight of his life coming up, his focus should be on training.

When fate brings Vince & Liv back together again, there's no denying the chemistry is still there. But can Vince erase the old scars their past left behind? Or will Liv hurt him instead?

***Author's note*** THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the 18.

Review: THE DEEP (The Island #3) by Jen Minkman

The Deep (The Island #3)

The world is never-ending.
I never realized just how much space there is – how far and wide the water around our island stretches out. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I may have believed that a second Wall ran around Tresco, containing the infinite waters so we wouldn’t all wash over the edge and plummet down into the depths.’

Leia and Walt are on their way to the Other Side, where the legendary land of Cornwall awaits them. Tony, their new friend, has told them that all wars of the past have been forgotten and the citizens of Bodmin and Dartmoor live in peace. People adhere to the tenets of an old religion that preaches forgiveness and non-violence.
However, Walt and Leia soon discover that even a peace-loving, ideal society like this one may have its flaws. While on a forbidden trip to Exeter, the old city of their ancestors, the two Islanders discover more about the new world than they ever bargained for.

Secrets run dark and passions run deep in this thrilling conclusion to the Island novella series.

Review:

I am so excited to share the 3rd installment of THE ISLAND trilogy with you all! I have really enjoyed this novella series, and The Deep was even better because it's actually a full novel. Leia and Walt finally travel to the world across the water, and what they find is both surprising and a little terrifying.

Just like the other 2 books in this series, The Deep is a wonderful, captivating read that will have you glued to the pages. With the story told from alternating perspectives, the reader gets to see what's happening both in Cornwall and in Tresco at the same time. A new narrator is introduced and we finally get a much closer glimpse into some extremely interesting characters.

I highly recommend The Deep and the entire The Island series. It's a clean read and will hold your attention so much that you won't be able to put it down. Haven't read the first 2 books?

Start from the beginning!

Last Impressions Character Casting & Review

Are you like me? Do you like to picture who would play the characters your're reading about in a book? Well, I do it all the time, and I am so excited that AJ Aalto, author of The Marnie Baranuik Files has graciously shared her dream cast for book 3: Last Impressions.  So, who does this amazing (yet freakishly strange at times) writer picture playing her characters? Read on to find out!

Dream Cast for Last Impressions

STARRING

Don't they all make a very beautiful cast?!
Trust me, if this book was going to be a movie, AJ has picked the perfect cast! She did mention that Jason Statham was selected as Agent Mark Batten (and I quote) "on account of his resting jerk face." Also, she think's Agent Gary Chapel has more hair than Mitch Pileggi, but he's got the overall look going for him. If you haven't read the book yet, I can't wait for you to meet Combat Butler and Constable Shenck. Keep reading for my review!

Did you miss my interview with Marnie or the "Day in the Life of AJ Aalto"? No problem. Follow the links below.

REVIEW:

Oh yea! She’s done it again! AJ Aalto has written a sparkling yet freakish tale of ghosts, poltergeists, and a creepy priest with ghost-sniffing dogs. (Weird right?) But sticking to tradition, Marnie has gotten herself into some hot doodie! And this time, she’s in Canada. Yep, after a little trouble back home, Marnie decides to head “home” to help solve a case.

As usual, she’s full of wit and sarcasm and well… trouble. But we get a glimpse at a different side of Marnie as well. She has some serious moments, and I think she might actually be growing up. Ok, that might be going a little far, but she is seriously starting to consider some options. I mean, this time she’s in over her head, but that’s not about to stop her. She takes names (literally, although it takes some time to figure out who’s name’s she’s taking), kicks some butt, well really it’s invisible butt, but… That’s a lot of buts.

Ok, ok… seriously, there is something that is so spectacular about this book that makes it completely stand out from all of the other adventures Marnie has tackled. What it is you ask? IT’S ME! No really. I’m in this book. It’s pretty freakin’ cool if I do say so myself. Ok, so that might not be that interesting to you, but (there’s another one!) I promise as I read I told my husband, “There’s my name! Oh… there it is again. And…” You get the idea.

Anyway, in short, this is of course another CAN’T MISS read. I think readers will really begin to see a different side of Marnie and another character favorite of mine: Agent Mark Batten (aka Kill-Notch). Yep, we learn a little more about him too. And of course there’s Harry (and now I’m picturing Jude Law speaking non-sense and backing brownies). So get ready! Because you’ll want to grab Last Impressions as soon as it hits the shelves on June 13th!

Haven’t read the other books in The Marnie Baranuik Files? Get entered below for your chance to win the ENTIRE SERIES!

**A light, sexy NA Contemporary Romance**

Review:

This is a fun, flirty read with a whole lot of self-discovery. I enjoyed the fact that the story wasn't really dark and didn't tackle a heavy, stifling topic. While the stakes weren't very high, the characters in this book struggle to find themselves and really become a whole person.

The story is told from the alternating POVs of Charlotte and Mason which works really well and provides insight into what each character is thinking about a particular scene or event. How simple things can be misconstrued and how two people who are so perfect for each other can struggle with understanding their feelings.

While the idea behind the book is not really anything novel, the author brought a special angle that managed to keep my attention and had me flipping page after page to see what was going to happen next. It was a much needed break from all the heavy and dark reads I've been making my way through lately. Certainly not one to miss. So be sure to pick up your copy of this fun love story.

THAT ONE SUMMER by C.J. Duggan: Blog Tour & Review

That One Summer (Summer #3)
Release Date: 12/17/13
Summary from Goodreads:

Loving Chris Henderson would be wrong. Diabolically disastrous. I mean, what is there about him to love? He’s moody, bossy, brooding, a control freak, and that’s on a good day … but there was one achingly obvious fact that haunted my every thought, every minute of every day …

He sure could kiss.

As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone agrees on: no one wants to be in Onslow for New Year’s Eve.

So that can only mean one thing: road trip!

No longer the mousey, invisible, shy girl from years ago, Tammy Maskala is finally making up for all those lost summers. A new year with new friends, which astoundingly includes the bossy boy behind the bar, Chris Henderson.

She likes her new friends (at least most of them), so why does she secretly feel so out of place?

After chickening out on the trip, a last-minute change of heart sees Tammy racing to the Onslow Hotel, fearing she’s missed her chance for a ride. The last thing she expected to meet was a less-than-happy Onslow Boy leaning against his black panel van.

Now the countdown begins to reach the others at Point Shank before the party is over and the new year has begun. Alone in a car with only the infuriating Chris Henderson, Tammy can’t help but feel this is a disastrous start to what could have been a great adventure. But when the awkward road trip takes an unexpected turn, Tammy soon discovers that the way her traitorous heart feels about Chris is the biggest disaster of all.

Fogged up windows, moonlight swimming, bad karaoke and unearthed secrets; after this one summer nothing will ever be the same again.

Review:
I fell in love with the Onslow boys immediately in The Boys of Summer, and I can't seem to keep my hands off every time C.J. Duggan releases another book in this series. My favorite character? CHRIS HENDERSON! He's always been so elusive and mysterious with his serious manner and mother-hen-like approach to all the others in the group. So when I realized that the next book in the series was going to center around Chris, I about flipped my lid.

As usual, That One Summer is told through the eyes of the female character; in this case Tammy Maskala. Just like Chris, she's been somewhat of a mystery character within the series. So I was pretty excited to delve into her character as well. She's pretty mousy, and insecure and when you put Tammy and Chris in a van alone on a road trip... well, I wasn't sure what to expect.

These two characters were so perfect together! Duggan did a wonderful job bringing both of them to life and making them and their interactions realistic. In fact, she excels at this in all her books. Through a multitude of misunderstandings, insecurities, and mishaps the relationship between these two overly serious, yet still fun-loving characters grows beautifully.

If you've read the other books in this serious, you will fall in love with this Onslow boy just as much as the rest. Even more so! If you haven't read The Boys of Summer and An Endless Summer (Books 1 & 2), I highly recommend them. These books are amazing coming-of-age stories filled with humor, love and growth. You'll watch both the characters and their relationships develop before your eyes and you fall more and more in love with the Onslow boys and the girls who love them with every turn of the page.

What's next in the Summer Series?
