Book
Description:
He
is seeking absolution.
Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex and it’s one
of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his
entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to
save. Because, if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.
She
is seeking escape.
Rowan Page’s life is nothing short of a
disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She’s
determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life,
despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.
Together,
they have the chance to become complete.
Flynn and Rowan’s worlds exist miles apart, but
when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the
instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark
eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.
Both
are willing to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them,
despite the risk of being burned.
Review:
What an amazing and fabulous end to the OFF series! I think this is quite possibly my favorite OFF book yet. Flynn is a heart-stopper, and Rowan is a hoot and a half. I have fallen in love with each and every one of Sawyer Bennett's OFF series characters along the way, and to say that Off Chance was the most fitting end to a wonderful series is really just not enough.
All of the OFF books have characters that have some type of damage; but Flynn and Rowan might just take the cake in this regard. They've each been through some pretty severe emotional trauma, and each one is fighting to find their place in the world. Flynn as the hero and Rowan as the nobody she believes she is. Their story is one hell of an emotional roller-coaster, but it's real. Like all of the OFF books, the characters and events are believable and not unrealistic or totally off the wall. In other words, they don't go through things that only happen in movies. They experience real events that people go though all the time.
Flynn's hero complex rears it's head with Rowan, and after he rescues her from a fire (the fire is significant!!) he's on a roll! He's drop dead sexy... hello... fireman! And he has one of the best hearts.
Rowan is a work in progress. She's a product of her past, and oh boy has it affected her. She one strong woman, but still a scared little girl in some ways. I loved her zeal and determination, even when it was holding her back from something she really wanted... and needed.
So, as an ending to the OFF series, OFF CHANCE is a hit! But one of my favorite aspects of this finale is that we get to see ALL of the OFF series characters and where they end up. That's right! Danny & Ryan, Emily & Nix, Ever & Linc, and Renner & Cillian are all there too! So, it's a nice wrap up for everyone. You certainly don't want to miss it, but in case you haven't read the rest of the series, you'll definitely want to check those out as well.

About
the Author
USA Today Best-Selling author, Sawyer Bennett,
is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally
start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. She
is married to a mobster (well, a market researcher) and they have two big,
furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she doesn't have many
weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.
