**Giveaway is closed. Winner has been chosen by Rafflecopter/Random.org. Andrea King from The Busy Bibliophile has been contacted and responded. She chose signed Shade Trilogy and I welcome her to #TeamKilt! She's in for a treat!
WoooooHooooo!!! It’s St. Patrick’s Day and we are going to celebrate our favorite things Irish, including one of our beloved fictional hotties; the ultimate, sweet-ass rocker that is LOGAN KEELEY, from Shade Trilogy by Jeri Smith-Ready. Yeah baby yeah!! Too bad we can’t find the end of a rainbow, where it leads to a pot full o’ peek-a-boo Logan! We don’t want no stinkin’ gold!
For a little bit o’ history about St. Patty’s Day… It’s a religious holiday derived from the Catholic-Irish and has been celebrated every March 17th for over 1,000 years. It is a feast day where Saint Patrick (AD 387–461) is remembered for the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and marks the day of the anniversary of his death in the 5th century. Supposedly, Saint Patrick used a shamrock (three leaved clover) to explain the Holy Trinity. Guess that’s where the green comes from? March 17th falls during the Christian season of Lent and the day is celebrated by dancing, drinking, and eating. Heck yeah! You can find out more about St. Patrick’s Day by clicking Wikipedia's website here.
And without further adoo-oooo, our favorite things Irish!!
My (Kim) #1 fav is my Caj-irish (Cajun-Irish) husband, Toby Callegan. Now, that’s an Irish name for you!! Isn’t he just handsome as all get out,? Look at those rosy cheeks; that’s from me pinching them. In the 1650’s, Toby’s forefathers left Ireland for Nova Scotia for it’s rich soil, then migrated to the U.S. and settled in Louisiana in the late 1700’s.
Up next, there is a special someone in a fictional world that we just absolutely adore and he’s of Irish heritage. His name is Cutie-Patootie, I meant, Logan Keeley. He’s hot, and he’s loyal, and he’ll make your heart melt into a puddle of ooey-gooey sweetness, and he plays guitar, and he can rock a kilt according to the ShadeBoys Tumblr!! Follow it, you’ll see some kilt-off goodness!!
**Logan's avi pics were provided by http://www.kiltandkeeley.com/ |
Logan is from our favorite young-adult Trilogy, Shade. Shade, Shift, and (soon to be) Shine (releasing May 1st) was written by the AHHHH-MAZING Jeri Smith-Ready. Logan also has a short story in Enthralled (Bridge, by Jeri Smith-Ready). You can order signed copies of the books from Constellation Books and can review Living Fictitiously’s 5 star ratings for Shade, Shift and Enthralled by clicking the titles. Follow Logan on Twitter, and his pals, Aura and Zachary too! Of course you want to follow Jeri as well ; )
Another favorite o' the Irish is KILTS! Of course! Do you think we would really get by on this post, without mentioning kilts as a favorite?!? There are plenty debates over Ireland and the whole kilt thing. But, what-evs… we associate kilts with Ireland no matter what and holy stinkin’, oh our eyesight full o’ son of a hotness!!! We have this blazing image of Logan in a utilikilt in our heads. (Cue Wayne’s World quote) “Shaaaa-wiiiing!”
Our next favorite thing Irish, is music. As you know, not only do we love to read, but we love to rock out as well. TheCranberries, from Limerick, Ireland is an awesome band from the 90’s. I (Kim) jam to Zombie like it came out yesterday!
Another great band that is Irish influenced is Dropkick Murphys. We dedicate this song to Logan. Peg O' My Heart.
We also have a favorite Irish influenced fictional band where our boy Logan rocks the guitar. Check out his Forever lyrics to Aura on Jeri's blog here. *Grabs Kleenex. Sniffles.*
Next on the list… There is another land that I (Kim) love to escape to, other than fictional ;) – This one is physical, it is real. And it is fun! Every time I go there, I think of Logan… well, I went there before I read about Logan. But now, I associate Happy’s Irish Pub with Logan because Happy’s makes me happy, Logan makes me happy and sad *sniffs*- but mostly happy! When I’m there, being I’m of age *winks* I get jiggy with it to the bands outside in the courtyard and I hang out with my ole buddy, Jameson. Ya know, Jameson Whiskey? Now, if Britney would get her assiola to Louisiana for a visit, I will take her to Logan Land too ;)
Good grief! This post turned out to be long, but we’re having so much fun! Okay, so a few more things before we wrap this post up with a giveaway. Last favorite o’ the Irish… Oh the lands of Ireland… how flipping beautiful are they? The whole image of Ireland is a mass of beauty, even though half the time the weather is over cast. The lush green rolling hills – it’s so beautiful, we can smell it. Whooops, never mind- Toby just mowed the lawn! But really, not only does Ireland boast beautiful lands, it offers much in history, architecture, culture and ancient mysteries.
Before we get to the giveaway, here's a #TeamKilt kiss from us to you!

DeleteFirst kiss...before I was 2 in my parents living room. First REAL kiss...boyfriends front poarch.
ReplyDeletePorch light on or off?
DeleteMy first kiss was in the 10th grade, on my front porch, with the exchange student in Finland. He "locked" my class ring.
ReplyDeleteAnd your lips, lol!!

ReplyDeleteMy first kiss happened at the house of the boy I liked...and I totally wasn't supposed to be there.
ReplyDeleteI was in that situation once! Ha.
DeleteHaha, I haven't gotten my first kiss yet. ;) Oh yes, I am imagining the look on your face right now. So um-
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE POST, KIM! (No, seriously, I do love it. I'm not saying it just to change the subject.)
:) Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the love! I entertained myself doing this post. It was so much fun!!
DeleteI honestly don't remember my first kiss. I couldn't even tell you who it was with. It must've been pretty unremarkable, lol.

ReplyDeleteLOL!!
DeleteOh.
ReplyDeleteAwkward... JK. JK. XD Hahaha
I haven't honestly had my first kiss. The physical one anyway. My first (real) name though is Kissha and it starts with a Kiss. So.. it's my first? Hahaha
Pretty name!!
DeleteIf I told you where my first kiss happened I'd be lying cause I've never been kissed. Exception would be family however, in which case too young to remember.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your first kiss will be as memorable as it is in the books we read ;)
DeleteYeah, but who knows? It'd be my luck to get one of those awful, awkward first kisses
DeleteThe first kiss I had when I was too young and dumb for it to count was in my living room. I kissed that boy a lot more too, but I really shouldn't have. My second first kiss, and possibly one of the most important kisses of my life, was in my car. He asked if he could kiss me. Really. Asked me. How polite. Haha.
ReplyDeleteKissing regrets, ugh. But I'm glad the second one was special.
Deletemy first kiss I was only in second grade and It was at our valentine's day party at school. he just kind of walked up and planted one on me out of no where and of course he said the whole i love you and yeah it was cute at the time : ) my first real kiss was in my car and was no where near as memorable!
ReplyDeleteSecond grade shock factor, lol!!
Delete....... *cough* I haven't had my first kiss yet *cough*.......
ReplyDeleteAntyways, I really love the post! And I really love the giveaway! :))
There's plenty of time to kiss in the future. Thanks for liking the post/giveaway. It was fun creating it.
DeleteMy first kiss was on the side of a butte in Wyoming when I was in 4th grade. The boy was Jeff Harmon and he lived down the street from me and we went hiking up the butte together.
ReplyDeleteI kissed him. He rolled down the butte. It was pretty awesome.
This is sweet
DeleteThank you all so much for joining us and sharing your first kiss, or lack there of, with us. In the spirit of St. Pattys day I will share too. My first kiss was in kindergarten. I kissed a boy named Nick in the water fountain line. Then my teacher promptly awarded me a " red card" and called my parents. Oops. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patricks Day!

ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patricks Day!
I knew you were a trouble maker ;)
DeleteIt's rather embarrassing but my first real kiss was in the 6th grade, behind the dumpsters behind my Catholic elementary school, so the nuns wouldn't catch us! LOL It was definitely memorable! The boy was Irish, too! His name was John McGee and he had the black hair and blue eyes of the Black Irish about him :D
ReplyDeleteFunny!!!
DeleteI don't wanna lie so here's the truth, I haven't had my first kiss yet but as to when it happens I don't have a preference on where it should be, as long as it'll be with a guy I like I'm sure the rest doesn't matter n_n
ReplyDeleteThat's right!!
DeleteFirst real kiss was 8th grade. One of my guy friends was trying to convince me to go somewhere with him and he pushed me up against the side of my friends house. Good times....
ReplyDeleteSaucy!!!
DeleteThe only first kiss that really counted was my husband at a party in University.
ReplyDeleteI have read Shade and it was a great read. I am really excited about the next installment and am getting impatient.
And you married him, aaaawwww!!!
DeleteMy first kiss took place in my school gym at the Valentine's Dance. :]
ReplyDeleteNothing like mackin in the school gym during dances!!
DeleteI LOVE your post! Kim, look at your cute hubby! I love St. Patrick's Day so much, I swear I've got a little Irish in me somewhere!
ReplyDeleteLove you both, girlies!!
Amy
Aww, thx Amy. He's a sweetheart. Next month we'll be married 14 years. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Thank you and the rest of K&K for hosting!! And I'll see you in 2 months for Team Kilt Con!!
DeleteLove you back!!
DeleteThanks for sharing your first kiss locations and the one's TBD ;) my first kiss I'm rather shameful of.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I was in sixth grade and my boyfriend had a sweet-ass mullet. We were sitting in the first seat on the school bus and he was like, "Let's French kiss." And I'm like, "Okay. I've seen how it's done on TV." So we did. And he bit me. It was awkward. When I told my friends the next day, they said French kissing doesn't involve biting. So I broke up with him. I feel bad about it now. At least we remained friends.
DeleteFirst kiss was the summer after 8th grade with a boy that I had a major crush on. It was really sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing a giveaway ladies :) Love you both bunches!!
-Marissa
I forgot the where part..it was just on a set of stone steps in his neighborhood. Pretty sure my brother rode by in his car and saw us. Sort of embarrassing...
DeleteOh gosh! Did big brother rat you out?
DeleteGreat post and super sweet giveaway!! You guys are the best! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy first kiss was kind of uneventful since it was on a dare during the summer before 7th Grade. It wasn't even a boy I liked! LOL
Dares FTW, lol!
DeleteMine was at the drive-in. It was not as romantic as it sounds!
ReplyDeleteDid you watch any of the movie?
DeleteMine was in elementary school during nap time!
ReplyDeleteAwwwweeeee!!
DeleteIn the coat closet during recess when I was in first grade in elementary school.
ReplyDeleteAh ahahaha!
