BLOG TOUR: SOUL SAVERS series by Kristie Cook

Welcome to the SOUL SAVERS Book Tour! Tour information can be found here. I absolutely LOVE this series and cannot wait for the next installment. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series you can read my reviews for the books here:
Genesis a Soul Saver prequel novella

Devotion, is the latest book in the Soul Savers series.

Add it to your goodreads list:
-Book Summary:
With powerful abilities gained from the Ang’dora and Tristan back by her side, Alexis thinks she’s ready for the next challenge— protecting her son from what appears to be the inevitable. But she has so much to learn about her powers, her new world and the people in it. Nothing is what it seems to be on the surface, including the Amadis.
Power-hungry politicians comprise the council and make impossible demands. A traitor lurks among them all, inciting trouble that could destroy the Amadis and, ultimately, humanity. The Daemoni wreak havoc in the human world, with the ultimatum that they’ll continue attacking innocents until Alexis and Tristan are expelled from the Amadis’ protection. The couple’s own society begins to shut them out. But that’s not all.
Someone’s keeping a secret. A big one. Faith and hope in Alexis and Tristan will be restored if she can uncover the truth in time.
But the search for answers leads only to the discovery of more betrayals by those closest to Alexis. Her devotion is put to the test—devotion to her husband, to her family, to her people and to her beliefs—leaving her to question whom she’s fighting for and why she should even bother. But if she won’t fight . . . who will?

-Purchase Devotion:

I had the opportunity to as Tristan, yes sexy Tristan, one question about the topic of devotion. Here is what I asked and his response.

QUESTION: Is there anything that could/would cause you to betray your closest friends and family?

Tristan: The Amadis comes before everything. I have sacrificed myself, to the detriment of my wife and son, for the greater good of the Amadis. I betrayed Alexis and Dorian’s trust that I will always be there for them, to love and protect them. I have to live with that for the rest of my life. Would I betray them again? I hope I’m never put in that situation again, but if I am, well, God first, then Amadis, then my family. That’s how it is for all of us.

  1. I know it's a good cause to be fighting for, but that just seems to really suck. Not being able to put your family first--in fact they come in THIRD! It's got to be really hard for him.

    1. Yeah, it does suck. Glad humanity's future isn't based on MY decisions like they are on his. We'd all be in trouble. LOL

  4. Ever answer Tristan gives makes me love him more. It's so sad that he feels like he betrayed Alexis and Dorian when the truth is, he did what he did in part to protect them and all of humanity. If that's not a noble cause, I don't know what is. Love this guy! <3

  6. Sigh......I'd hate to say either way whether or not I could betray someone. The circumstances always matter.

  7. Groan...this is one of those, look in the mirror type questions. I would hope the answer would be no, based on my heart, faithfulness and sence of loyalty. I would hope that I would face any challenge bravely, with conviction (and not pull a Peter)! That would be devistating. Tristan grieves deeply for missed time with his family and years of longing and sorrow for them on his account. But you know what? I can't help but be proud of his devotion! He lived placing the good of others before himself, and he did return, as he promised!

  8. Every comment on here I 100% agree with. Tristan is an amazing man. In my real life my husband is my tristan. Sometimes life choices are made to protect the ones you love. Even if they don't understand it. Love your books Kristie.

  9. Like everyone else I agree that Tristan did what he had to do to protect his family and there is nothing better than a man that does what's best for his family. Very sad he still feels like he betrayed them. Hopefully by the end he will learn to know he's fully good!
    Thank you kristie!!!

  15. My first instinct is to say no, nothing would make me betray my friends and family. But after thinking about it, how could I not agree to betray them if it would save lives? So I guess the answer is really yes.

  18. No. I have never been tested on this, but I don't believe the ends justify the means, so to speak.
