Sneak Peek
Chapter Two
Jack Henry McLachlan

I once thought I didn’t want a wife and kids but it was because I hadn’t met the right person. Everything is different now—I’m married to the perfect woman and I can’t wait until she becomes the mother of my children.
I’m glad L asked me why I was anxious to begin our family. I’m not sure I would’ve ever been brave enough to volunteer that information. Fear. It’s not something a man likes to admit but that’s the beauty of my relationship with L. I can tell her anything.
She turns in my arms and kisses me between words. “You. Are. Amazing.”
“I’m glad you think so since it seems you’re stuck with me for the rest of our lives.”
“Happily stuck by choice. There’s a difference.”
I watch the sun dance on her face as the palm trees above move in the breeze. A shorter strand of hair at her temple has escaped her grasp and I tuck it behind her ear. “Are you truly happy?”
“It isn’t possible for me to be happier than I am in this moment.”
I grasp her face and look into her golden-brown eyes. I see her sincerity and know her words are true. She didn’t marry me for any reason other than her love for me, so Laurelyn Paige Prescott McLachlan is a woman to be treasured. “Nor could I.”
I lean down to scoop her from the ground and she squeals. “I think it’s time I carried my bride across the threshold. I want you to see the rest of the house.”
I turn the knob and gently push the door open with my foot. L is like a wide-eyed child. I return her to her feet and her head oscillates slowly as she takes it all in.
The floor plan is open so she’s able to see the living room along with the kitchen and dining room. She says nothing and I can’t tell if she likes it or not. “What are you thinking?”

“How much I love you,” she says, propelling herself into my arms for a kiss. “You take care of me,” she says against my mouth. “No one’s ever done that before.”

 photo goodreads-badge-add-38px11_zps1ae6e47f.jpg
         Excerpt 2 Liv’s POV
Vinny slips on a pair of running shorts and reaches down to the floor, pulling up the panties I’m still searching for.  “You looking for these?”  He twirls my sad excuse for underwear around on his one finger with a devilish grin.
“Yes.”  I reach out to grab them, but Vinny’s too quick.  He folds them into one hand and hooks his arm around my waist, pulling me to him with the other.
“Stay.  I’ll be back in less than two hours.”
“You want me to stay?”
Leaning down, his mouth close to my ear, he responds, “I want you in my bed waiting for me when I get back.”
His words are kind, and I appreciate him offering them to me, but it’s not necessary.  I’m a big girl, he doesn’t need to coddle me after a night of passion.  “It’s okay.  It’s sweet of you to offer, but I have errands to run anyway.”
Vinny turns me to face him, tilting my face up to look into his eyes.  “I don’t do sweet, Liv.  I want you to stay because I’m selfish.  I want back inside of you.  I’m hard just thinking about the sound you make when you come for me.  So fuck your errands and get back in bed and try to get some rest.  Because you’re gonna need it.”
My lord.  Maybe I should be offended at the harshness of his words, but I’m not.  Instead they make me feel drunk with desire and I find myself staring back at him at a loss for words.  Vinny grins, he must know he’s gotten to me.
“Okay?”  He kisses me chastely on the lips.
“Okay,” I finally respond with a smile that lets him know he’s changed my mind.
Grabbing his keys off the dresser, Vinny opens the palm of his hand revealing black lace.  I’d forgotten that he even still had my panties in his hand.  “I’m keeping these.”  With a devilish grin he shoves them into his pocket as he walks out.

REVIEW ~ Shattered by Jeri Smith-Ready

STRENGTH MEANS STANDING ALONE

Or so seventeen-year-old Zachary Moore believes. He’s free now after two months in solitary captivity, where his only refuge was madness. Finally home in Scotland, he’s determined to “get sane” in time to reunite with the girl he loves.

STRENGTH MEANS STAYING SILENT

To keep Aura safe, Zachary must build a wall of secrets around his past and present. No one can know how shattered he’s become.

But the harder he tries to fix himself, the more his mind unravels, until memory, fantasy, and reality blur more than ever. With the help of an old friend--as well as an old enemy--Zachary must find the strength to speak.

The strength to not stand alone.

A hopeful yet heartbreakingly realistic companion novella, “Shattered” lets readers into the fractured mind of the Shade trilogy's most mysterious and beloved character.

*****

Shattered, by Jeri Smith-Ready is a companion novel to her Shade series. This read was a personal, emotional, deep and psychological short story of a supporting main character Team Kilt loves to love, Zachary Moore. Readers will discover his fears and endure his pain from his experience at 3A. You will experience Zachary's hardships and his sufferings, and then you will see the progression of his healing.

Shattered wasn't full of laughs or dancing unicorns. It was a very serious novel and emotionally written and stated. You were inside of Zachary's head.

Zachary is a character I've a strong bond with over the few years I've read him as a supporting character. Shattered was written in his point of view of a terrible experience he went through and how it shattered him. It was a struggle for me to read what Zachary endured. His state of mind in this short story is not what the reader is accustomed to. What he continues to go through-- his da, flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks. It was something I hadn't expected and it shocked me, it upset me for him. It hurts when someone you are close to or love, whether real, surreal, or not real, is suffering. Therefore, this was a short story that I couldn't read in one setting. It was too dramatic for me to handle. So I had to read in doses. But this story needed to be told, as the author had stated, for the readers to understand, although painful what Zachary had went through. And for us to understand how much he truly loved Aura to have went through this, even though it 'shattered' his inner self. How much he wanted to protect her. And we realize exactly how strong Zachary is as he broke through the barriers of his PTSD.

You really get to see the true meaning of friendship in this companion novel. Zach's best mate Martin was the ultimate, supportive best friend. When someone is able to offer a person who is suffering the support he/she needs- to me, that person has a soul of gold. More Martin, please?

The emotional words behind this story and in any of her work should tell you something about the author's writing. How realistic, personal and compassionate it is. Readers will always be inflicted with the character's triumphs and/or pain in all of her novels.

REVIEW ~ Double Time by Olivia Cunning

Olivia Cunning delivers the perfect blend of steamy sex, heartwarming romance, and a wicked sense of humor in this menage story featuring the hottest guy in the Sinners band.

Trey Mills, the notoriously sexy Sinners rhythm guitarist, gives up his bisexual lifestyle and is swept into a hot, heady romance with Reagan Elliot, a female rock star sensation. But when Trey encounters Reagan's sexy bisexual roommate, Ethan Conner, he can no longer deny who he is or what he wants. Reagan heartily agrees to a solution that opens up a hot new world of sexual experience--and love--with the two men she wants the most.

Dear sweet Baby Jesus, grant me the serenity to always love every member in Sinners.

And here we have the fifth book in the Sinners on Tour series, Double Time by Olivia Cunning. This ends the series for me to date, until the next and sixth installment comes out, Sinners at the Altar. I read books 1 -5 back to back, so it kinda makes my heart heavy, and my libido lost, lol, until I get the next book in my hands!! I tell you, these Sinners rocked my thoughts. Rock stars and erotica? It was almost too much for me to handle. HOT, HOT, HOT!!

Aaaaaahhh!! Double Time was the lustiest book IMO in Sinners on Tour. I'd say this was my favorite tour! And this time, I was able to fall in love with my most favorite band mate, Trey. I wanted to kiss away his images of Brian and replace them of me. I swear I'd transform into a cherry lollipop just so I could be in his mouth. Brian did disappoint me in his apathetic response in a certain scene. Tsk tsk Brian!

Trey's vivacious personality is what made me fall for him so hard. Although he's had his hiccups, he's truly a genuine person and mostly, a genuine friend. I was very proud of Trey to make his decision to move on. It couldn't have been easy.  He had so much love to give and deserves to loved. I.LOVE.HIM.

Here comes in an unexpected rock chick ( I WANT TO BE HER) Reagan, to rock Trey's world. This girl was bad ass I tell ya! In this moment in my reading life- I've never wanted to be someone so dang bad! Musically inclined, hot, thoughtful, understanding, accepting, raw and upfront-  I WANNA BE HER! What you see is what you get. My kind of girl! She made a perfect match for Trey.

I adored how Trey loved, how he interacted, how he touched and kissed, how he handled his confusion. I imagined him soft spoken and patient to those he loved.

And have mercy, we have a third character here- not something I expected-- a sexy roommate came into play causing Trey's bisexualness to go into frenzy mode. Which had me all in a frenzy. Ethan was primal. He was glorious and like Trey, had much love to give and craved to be loved back. I WANNA BE REAGAN!!

I didn't know what direction I wanted Trey to take as I was reading, so I was like piss on it- take the best of BOTH worlds you sexy beast! I mean stability can be overrated at times, right?

This trio made me feel naughty- seriously.  A trio of love worked for these characters and led them to a blissful relationship. Everyone was happy from all sides-- aaaaah hahaha- pun intended.  If they're happy, and no harm done- just pure adorated love, then I support them with having all the happiness possible. And I enjoyed the hell out of it in reading and exploring their emotions on their journey. But honestly, every member of Sinners will make you have a party in your pants. However, in Double Time, you'll just want to um, keep partying on, lol!!!!

I really have to stress my adoration for the Sinners on Tour series. While each book is focused on a single member of the band, they all intertwine and you still get a dose of all the characters in every read. I really enjoyed that about them. Rock n' roll, sex, and broken hearts mended, equals a helluva good read. My heart will be heavy until the sixth book is released, Sinners at the Altar. Keep this series going Olivia. I heart it with my soul!!! I love you Brian. I love even Sed! I love you Jace, you too Eric! AND OH MY GOD, I LOVE YOU TREY! See you guys at the altar!~ Whenever that is-- I seem to be having trouble trying to find the release date.

REVIEW ~ Wicked Beat by Olivia Cunning

From the moment he lays eyes on Sinners’ new front of house soundboard operator, drummer Eric Sticks knows he has to make Rebekah his. Unfortunately, she’s too busy trying to seduce guitarist Trey Mills to pay him much attention. Rebekah never planned to fall for the tall, goofy drummer with the weird sense of humor and a heart the size of the galaxy. But Eric makes her laugh and his constant attention makes her feel sexy and irresistible–exactly what she needs after the things her last lover said to her. A woman who gives as much as she takes, Rebekah makes Eric feel like a total stud–exactly what he needs after surviving a decade of watching the incredibly talented members of Sinners from the wings.

And here we have the fourth book in the Sinners on Tour series, Wicked Beat by Olivia Cunning. Just look at that sexy cover. YUMMY!!

So, we have the mighty drummer boy, Eric!! I've been waiting four books to get inside his head! I wanted to know what made him tick- why he liked to watch, instead of perform-- and I'm not talking music here. I wanted to know why he was defensive, and if he really seeked friendship in Jace. I wanted to know why he made my heart flutter, when he was so damn cocky? I figured it out. It wasn't just his sex appeal or naughty actions and talk. What I had discovered in this novel, but hadn't noticed in the others is, Eric was actually pretty damn funny and had a very empathetic side.

Oh my Gosh- I loved how he was so into Rebekah. How he gave her what she needed most- and she for Eric in return. Their imperfections turned perfect for each other. How they boosted each other's confidence, how they learned the other's body- both intellectual and physical. I will admit, it did take me mid story to connect with Reb. But I believe it was due to my protectiveness of Eric. In the beginning, it was hard for me to accept what she felt between he and another character. Oh but how I loved what Eric did to himself, for her. But, eventually, I got it. I got her. We all need validation in certain times of our lives. I understood her reasoning. And I extend my empathy for her battles. I did from the beginning, even though it took me a bit to connect with her personally. I thought their sentiment was a bit quick for my tastes, but hey- when you know, you know. And ooh, ooh, ooh we have a few extra doses of drama in Wicked Beat.

Oh how I mother effin' love this series hard!!!

REVIEW ~ Hot Ticket by Olivia Cunning

There are things in bassist Jace Seymour’s past that he is unwilling to share with anyone. To cover his guilt and anguish, he seeks dominatrix Mistress V (Aggie) to temporarily placate his inner turmoil.

Aggie doesn’t have much use for men–besides the power rush she gets when they’re begging for mercy at her feet–but Jace isn’t like her usual clients. His cool defiance and unexpected dominance in the bedroom drives her to distraction and quickly steals her heart.

When circumstances threaten Jace’s position in Sinners, Aggie must help him regain his rightful place in the band while showing him that time and love can heal all wounds.

This is a ticket alright, a ticket on a hot ride-- so hang on tight and brace yourself- its gonna be a ...

And now onto the mysterious Jace!! He was always quiet, awkward and reserved in the other novels, but has a helluva naughtily dominating side to him. When you read the first three novels in the Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning, Jace was a character that you just wanted to know more about. Well, here you go!!

Inside, Jace is broken from an ugly past. It broke my heart to have discovered the reasoning behind his lack of confidence within himself, with the exception of his talent. His talent was his savior. And as much as I like Eric, one of Jace's bandmates, I equally disliked him for being such a dickbomb to Jace, especially after I discovered why Jace had such high regards and devotion for Eric. I'm so thankful that Jace found Sinners, which led to his fate.

The girl that rocks Jace's world is one bad ass, sexy mistress. I envision her perfectly in my head. It was lovely reading how Aggie was able to offer Jace what he needed; how he was able to open up. How he needed to open up. Their connection was sexy, oh so naughty and quite supportive. They had a beautiful trust for the other- mentally and physically. What I'd do to run my fingers through that platinum blond hair of his.... my, my, my!

I'd say Hot Ticket had the most intensity as far as charactermanship, along with a dark masochistic side in the Sinners on Tour series. It was a highly emotional book. The burden Jace kept hidden until exposed sliced right thru your heart. The connection of the MC's in this book and the sex was submissive, raw, and scary good.

What's so fabulous about Sinners is how committed they are- to each other, their band mates, and their music. How much love they have to give, and the crave for that love to be reciprocated. Truly, it was exciting to follow each member's journey on their fate and fight for love and for getting into their souls to understand them for who they are beyond the music and fame.

REVIEW ~ Rock Hard by Olivia Cunning

An ultimatum can break your heart.... Every night lead singer, Sed Lionheart whips thousands of women into a frenzy with his voice alone. But the stage is the only place Sed feels any passion since he lost Jessica...

If you’re not willing to break all the rules...

It shattered her heart, but law student Jessica broke off her engagement to Sed, determined to be successful on her own terms. But no other man can ever hold a candle to Sed...

Then a chance meeting and tortuously close quarters lead to uncontrollable flares of passion and rediscovery of their unique penchant for public encounters. Now, in addition to the risk of mutual heartbreak every time they get together, they’re in danger of truly scandalous public exposure...

My journey continues with the Sinners band mates in the second book in the Sinners On Tour series, Rock Hard, by Olivia Cunning.

Again, I love how the author dedicates her books to rock legends. This one is to Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, who I've honestly worshiped since 1990. A singer I actually mourned the loss of and still do to this day.

In this second installment, my lover is the oh so hot, arrogant lead singer in Sinners, Sed. I have to laugh. The whole time I pictured him as the lead singer of Danzig, Glen Danzig. I mean, he was pretty hot circa 1990. And I kept singing, "Mother" in my head.

We get to know the real Sed, the reasoning behind his hardcore façade -and his lifestyle of meaningless sex.  He was hurt. Broken hearted. By a girl, but his doing. Arrogance when used in demeaning matters, with people you love- can destroy what you have. Then you suffer regret. Then you binge out to drown the regret. Then you crave the love you so dearly miss. <-- But all that caused the Rock Hard Sed - OH MY GOD! E M O T I O N!!! Who would've thought he actually had any emotion?

The reader gets to understand what's behind that tall, hot, beefy man- someone who's intentions may come across as over bearing, but with the best of his thoughts. He really does mean well. He says the wrong things, but means them the right way. His ass just gets in the way of his mouth, lol. Makes him a hard guy to understand. Possibly a defense mechanism.

Kind of sinister, but I enjoyed Sed's pain. I enjoyed his realization. I enjoyed his crave for Jessica, a girl from his past-- the way he missed her. I enjoyed Sed envying Brian and Myrna. I enjoyed reading about him blossoming into a man that knows how to love. I enjoyed his love making. His sensual side. I enjoyed reading the loss of his arrogance but the keeping of his confidence. When you use confidence in a positive way, it's quite attractive.

Ole Myrna from book 1, Backstage Pass, had a plan up her sleeve and Jessica took the bait.

But don't think Jessica ain't got a little game brewin'. Sed's past is coming back to bite him in the ass. She's got a lot of resentment. She wants to hate, but could she, would she surrender to love? Hmmm... Sed could be in the lead in this game.

Hot dang, we got love spats galore then Jessica bangs the wang!! Love, hate, jealousy, hate, love. Jessica and Sed binded maddenly, but it was so them and so hot. Their addiction for the other- insane. What they don't know of the other is that they feel the same. Who will say it first?

All this leaves for some pretty angsty lyrics. Hi fives to Jessica for putting Sed in his place. It takes a strong woman to turn a man like that around and to stand her ground. But she was very hard headed- a bit too much at times for my taste. She needed to take that pride of hers down a notch. In her defense, it's not easy being in love, especially with a rock star, much less to put up with rabid fans and skanky groupies. Then again, Sed let his harshness over rule his best intentions.

Cunning gives such great detail and emotion behind her writing that it leaves me imagining myself as the lead female character in her books. Rock Hard was pretty intense and quite dramatic.

Wonder which band mate will undergo the trials and tribulations of finding his love in book 3 of Sinners On Tour, Hot Ticket.

REVIEW ~ Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning

Five stunning guys, one hot woman, and a feverish romance...

For him, life is all music and no play...

When Brian Sinclair, lead songwriter and guitarist of the hottest metal band on the scene, loses his creative spark, it will take nights of downright sinful passion to release his pent-up genius...

She's the one to call the tune...

When sexy psychologist Myrna Evans goes on tour with the Sinners, every boy in the band tries to seduce her. But Brian is the only one she wants to get her hands on...

Then the two lovers' wildly shocking behavior sparks the whole band to new heights of glory... and sin...

Stop, drop and ROCK N’ ROLL!! Aaaah! First of all, the dedication in this book had me in chills!! I'm a Pantara fan- so the dedication alone had much meaning to me. "Gates of Hell"? Very clever! So, cheers Olivia Cunning to a little combo of Cowboys from Hell and Cemetery Gates.

"On stage, on tour, in bed, they'll rock your world..." And Backstage Pass, the first book in the Sinners on Tour series will do just that. I promise. In fact, I’ve read the first five books in this series back to back thus far. And every single one of the books lives up to that quote. (A HUGE thank you to my girls Jennifer Strand and Janette Derucki for recommending this series to me.)

I am a rocker chick, rock star wanna be. Hell, in my next life- if I can't be in a rock band, maybe I could at least be Myrna. And that's who I was as I read Backstage Pass. It was me as Myrna, and Brian and his guitar-- and a bed. What a wild and sexy read and a sinfully, kinky journey!

Rock stars have feelings too, although rock stars themselves can be deceiving. Don't let their stereotypical persona mislead your thoughts of them. They spend their lives entertaining their fans, whether on the road or in the music studio. They need love and inspiration too. It's what helps them keep their humanity and compassion. Romance isn’t hopeless for these rock stars. And that was the whole premise behind the Sinners on Tour books. For each band mate to find their love. While the band mates were hard core, they looked after and supported each other. So, while these books are full of erotica, it isn’t just about the sex. Their journey to finding love and the relationship building and background of these characters is really something special to read about.

Holy mother of sin! I just picture Brian Sinclair on his back, splayed across that table in the beginning chapter. The attraction between Brian and Myrna had my heart racing in lust. Their sex had me in primal screams.

Even though Myrna had expertise in sensuality, it didn't help her timid presence. Or the berating voice in her head. She was professionally focused on her career, and not finding a boyfriend. Myrna was scared to love, and Brian, the lead guitarist in Sinners just wanted to be loved.

Myrna was the savior to Brian's feelings and success. He was the redemption to her self-doubt. But it wasn't easy. It took a lot of work, chemistry, and trust. She gave him rhythm, he gave her hope. Their intimacy equaled Brian's muse. I love, love, loved Cunning's descriptives in this book. Her snarky connotations had me in giggles. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. Obviously, I loved the band. I had a crush on every one of them- each in their own way. Myrna was tactfully blunt and I adored her eagerness. She was reserved and classy, yet sassy. She was naughty, yet nice. Confident, but insecure. A babe of voyeurism.

This book was greatness- it was so raw, witty, and right on. I whole heartedly enjoyed the whole idea of this read, and I look forward to continue touring with Sinners in book 2, Rock Hard. Which band member will I be with next? No preference here. ;) I mean, they totally made me weak all up in my knees.

LEGAL AFFAIRS: OBJECTION by Sawyer Bennett: Release Event

An Adult Contemporary Romance Serial Series
By Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett

Legal Affairs: Objection is FREE for a limited time.

One year ago, I graduated from law school and embarked on a career as a purveyor of high priced legal shenanigans.

Six months ago, my boyfriend dumped me when I thought he might be proposing.

Two weeks ago, I got drunk and joined a secret sex club.

Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger.

Today? Well, today I’m contemplating having an affair with my boss.

Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex.

My name is McKayla Dawson but everyone calls me Mac. I work at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP, where the law has never felt so hot.

But between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

Legal Affairs and Its Characters
By Sawyer Bennett

McKayla “Mac” Dawson
Matthew Connover

Mac is hearts and flowers, wanting a deep connection with a man that she can love throughout eternity. So it’s surprising that she would have an anonymous, one-night stand with a complete stranger. It’s ironic that said stranger turns out to be the one man she ends up losing her heart to. Mac is a new lawyer, struggling to build a career at the same time trying to manage her devilishly handsome boss who wants in her pants. She’s hilariously snarky, independent and loving. She’s also brilliant and has moments of deviousness that serve her well, particularly when dealing with the ego of the great Matthew Connover.
Matthew Connover is a litigation god. He’s a sex god. Every lawyer wants to be like him, every woman wants to be with him. He’s just that good. When Mac Dawson blows into his life, his world is turned upside down. He is hopelessly drawn to her but wants to keep his own heart protected. Matt thinks the best way to do that is to keep their relationship only about the amazing, hot and deviant sex they have, while Mac has other ideas on the matter. As you get to know Matt, you see there are reasons for his reluctance to give love a try, but he’s so damn hot, you are always thinking to yourself… how bad can this sex only thing really be?

He left to travel the world for fame and glory, but only after spurning Gabby Ward and crushing her young heart. Now Hunter Markham has come back home to the sand and salty breeze of the North Carolina Outer Banks so he can open up Last Call, a beach bar nestled among the dunes of the Atlantic.

Gabby Ward is not happy that Hunter has returned. Bitter over his rebuff years before, she’s content to stay far away from him and his dangerously charming ways.

Gabby’s well-schemed plans to ignore Hunter go up in flames when he presents an offer to her that she simply can’t refuse, throwing them together in a common quest to each reach their goals. Working together day in and day out proves to be problematic for Gabby, who soon realizes that the feelings she had for him are still very much alive. Hunter struggles to reach through to Gabby’s cold heart, all while starting a new career away from his life as a top ranked, professional surfer.

What starts out as a mutual business arrangement soon turns into a passion that neither of them can continue to deny.

Hard choices lay ahead for both of them when Hunter is offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to return to the pro surfing tour.

LET LOVE SHINE by Melissa Collins - Book Blitz + Review

Let Love Shine Book Blitz Banner

Synopsis

What comes after “they lived happily ever after?

Maddy and Reid have seen their fair share of trials and tribulations, of love and loss. Facing down the biggest challenges of their young lives, they managed to survive and endure. With the future stretching out before them, they must learn to navigate new and unfamiliar paths.

Being new parents, starting new jobs, and continuing college is enough to overwhelm any couple. New challenges come up daily, as do small victories. Watch Maddy and Reid grow stronger together in this “one year later” tale of the everyday stuff that happens in real life.

With a solid foundation of love under their inexperienced feet – and with the help of their family and friends – Maddy and Reid learn how to let love shine, lighting the way for a beautiful future to come.

I love this series, and this novella is no exception. Unlike Melissa's other novels in the LOVE series, this little gem is more of glimpse into Maddy and Reid's life after the happy ending. Let's face it, life isn't all puppies and kittens and sunshine after marriage. It's challenging, and Let Love Shine is about that challenge. As the title says, it's about letting the love shine through even the tough stuff, even the mundane every day challenges of life.

The novella covers about a year and a half of time. From Braden's birth to roughly the May after his first birthday. What I really enjoyed is that this novella didn't revolve around one particular problem. It was more of a survey. Just living their life.

The writing is nothing less than I've come to expect from Melissa. It's wonderfully written with just enough spicy sex and with all the challenges of that come along with being new parents. (Let's face it, sex is hard to come by after kids.) If you've loved the other books in this series, you'll certainly adore this one centering on our favorite couple.

excerpt

Here we are a year later and we couldn’t be happier to have Braden’s first birthday party tomorrow with our friends and family. Between prepping for the party, me working overtime, and Maddy finishing her last summer course, we’ve barely been able to stay awake past eight every night. But watching them dance and laugh in front of me makes it all worth it.I pull them both into my arms and just hold them for a quick second before Braden starts shimmying out of Maddy’s arms. He’s caught sight of his Lightning McQueen racecar on the floor and is reaching for it. Handing him his car, Maddy puts him in his bouncy seat. The sight of my wife taking care of our son, talking baby talk and kissing him sweetly should warm my heart.  But all I can see is her ass right now. Yep, I want her.“Get over here.” I pull her back to me once Braden is situated and brush her hair out of her eyes. “You look beautiful, you know that?” I trail sweet, soft kisses behind her ear and down her neck.“Hmmm,” she mumbles and it makes me smile against her skin.Moving from her neck across to her mouth, I feel her lean into my lips. This is something else of which I’ll never get tired. Her full, luscious lips pressed against mine; the taste of her sweet mouth still drives me crazy. “Well, hello there.” Pulling away from our kiss, Maddy arches her eyebrows as she presses her hips into my groin. The last motion surprises me more than a little. To say that our sex life has been different in the last year is, well, it’s an understatement to say the least.“What? I’m not allowed to want my wife.” I grab her ass and push her into my erection a bit more. Our hands roam as the kiss rises in intensity. I fist a handful of her hair and pull her mouth even closer to mine. It’s the hottest kiss we’ve had in a while. Just as her hips start to roll into mine, we’re distracted by a sound, and smell, to which we’ve grown all too accustomed in the last year. Before I can even move my hands from her body, Maddy’s pinching her nose closed. “Not it!” She calls out and laughs.“Damn, you’re getting quick!” It’s kind of been our thing to decide who gets to change him. I scowl playfully at her and she just laughs at me.“Dude, you’re killing my game.” Braden smiles as I hold him out in front of me. “Holy crap! What the hell did you feed this kid today?” Seriously, he’s lethal.“He ate the same as usual. He’s just a stinky little monster.” She says the last sentence to Braden in that ridiculous baby talk. You can talk sweet about it all you want; it’s still poop.

Meet the Author
Melissa Collins 2 I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
